Robert Rosati, PhD

Chair, Connected Health Institute and VP of Quality and Research

Robert J. Rosati, PhD is the Vice President of Quality and Research. In March 2016, Dr. Rosati was also named Chair of the Connected Health Institute. Dr. Rosati is responsible for implementing and evaluating new technology initiatives at VNA Health Group. He is also responsible for quality improvement, analysis, reporting of clinical outcomes and conducting research related to home and community-based care. He is an Adjunct Professor of Family Medicine and Community Health at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Prior to his position at VNAHG, Dr. Rosati was at CenterLight Healthcare a provider and managed long-term care plan in New York, which also operates a PACE program. For over a decade, Dr. Rosati directed the internally funded research program at the Visiting Nurse Service of New York (VNS Health).

Dr. Rosati’s health care experience has encompassed varied research, quality improvement, education and administrative roles. He has published more than 50 healthcare quality related articles and made numerous presentations at local, national and international meetings. Dr. Rosati’s research interests include factors that contribute to adverse events in home health care, medical errors, case mix adjustment, improving patient outcomes, OASIS reliability, the impact of COVID-19 and long-term care public policy. He has been on multiple CMS Technical Expert Panels and AcademyHealth Advisory Committees.

In the area of research, Dr. Rosati has been an investigator on several internally and externally funded research studies that include the United Hospital Fund’s Medicaid High-Cost Care Initiative, Working Conditions and Adverse Events in Home Health Care, Evaluation of Remote Monitoring in Home Health Care and Improving Transitions and Outcomes for Heart Failure Patients through a Hospital-Home Care Information Exchange, Improving Dementia Care in Home Health Care and several studies funded by he Research Institute for Home Care. He is currently Co-Principal Investigator on Integrated Care for Kids (InCK) funded by CMMI.

Dr. Rosati received his MA and PhD from Hofstra University in Applied Research and Evaluation in Psychology. His BA degree in psychology is from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
