ShopRite gift cards will benefit families in need this holiday season

December 12, 2017 (Holmdel, NJ) – Visiting Nurse Association Health Group (VNA) received a generous donation of $7,500 in ShopRite gift cards from Shaw Kreizer Trial & Injury Lawyers (SK Law) in support of its “Seasons of Hope” annual program which provides basic items such as grocery store cards, clothing, toys and more to over 750 VNA patient families in need during the holiday season.

“Seasons of Hope” was started 20 years ago by VNA employees looking to give back during the holidays. The program has grown into full-scale operation, matching hundreds of VNA patient families in need with donors in the community. Led by Pauline DePalma, BSW, Director of Volunteer Services at the VNA, the program works with VNA staff who identify families and provide an anonymous summary of their circumstances. Donors are invited to “adopt” families with whom they feel connected to. VNA staff and volunteers sort, gift wrap and organize all contributions which are then hand delivered by VNA clinical staff.

“Shaw Kreizer law firm has a longstanding and strong tradition of giving back and helping our local community. As a member of the VNA Foundation Board of Trustees, I have become acutely aware of the needs of at risk and vulnerable VNA patients — many of whom are young children. David Kreizer and I, along with all the great people who work at SK Law, are happy to help the VNA’s Seasons of Hope holiday gift program and help brighten their holidays. And with our donation of grocery gift cards we know that there will be additional food or a special meal for families who are struggling in so many ways,” Judd B. Shaw, Managing Partner, SK Law, and recently elected Trustee to the VNA’s Foundation Board.
