Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)
Supplemental Nutrition Program
WIC is a public health program available in New Jersey, which provides nutrition education, nutritious foods, breastfeeding counseling and healthcare referrals for NJ women who are pregnant or post-partum, infants and children under the age of 5.
VNA of Central Jersey is the Sponsor for WIC in Monmouth and Middlesex Counties.
In 2014, nearly 34,000 mothers and children under the age of 5 received food and nutritional counseling for their families through the VNA Health Group WIC Supplemental Nutrition Program. The program includes nutritional counseling, anemia screening and vouchers for the purchase of selected nutritious foods. Services of a lactation consultant are also available.
Am I Eligible for the WIC Program?
Eligible participants include pregnant and nursing mothers as well as children up to 5 years of age. Eligibility depends on family size and income. To be eligible for a VNA New Jersey Women, Infants and Children Program, applicants must meet all of the following eligibility requirements:

WIC programs are federally funded and sponsored by VNA of Central Jersey in Monmouth and Middlesex Counties.
