School-Based Youth Service Programs
School-Based Nurse Practitioner Program
VNA Health Group school-based programs offer primary healthcare to more than one thousand student each year. Our school-based nurse practitioners provide care at five school districts throughout Middlesex and Monmouth counties and in 2011 saved more than 24,000 of lost school time.

- Sports physicals
- Immunizations and record review
- Scoliosis screening
- Hearing and vision testing

- Health education
In addition to nurse practitioner services, VNA Health Group also offers substitute school nursing services provided by registered nurses.
School-Based Youth Services Program (SBYSP) in Asbury Park
As the first statewide effort in the nation to place comprehensive services in or near secondary schools, VNA Health Group SBYSP staff is located at Asbury Park High School. They work with teens in grades 8-12 to help them finish school, acquire job skills and employment, prevent adolescent suicide and teen pregnancy, and to lead healthy, drug-free lives. In 2011, 396 students participated in the program and 100% of seniors enrolled in the program graduated from high school.
Day Care Center services
This specially funded program serves targeted day care centers in Monmouth County and provides health consultation and immunization audits at each center.
