Message From the President
Celebrating 100 years of caring.
It was the spring of 1912 when a small group of extraordinary volunteers led by social reformer and philanthropist, Geraldine Thompson, gathered at Brookdale Farm in Lincroft, New Jersey with a mission; to create a more humane approach to delivering healthcare and public assistance. Joined together by a desire to serve the place they called "home," those women are the foundation for what is today, Visiting Nurse Association Health Group (VNAHG), the largest visiting nurse association in New Jersey and among the largest in the United States. As we begin the celebration of our 100th Anniversary, we acknowledge with gratitude, the confidence that hundreds of thousands of patients have expressed in us.
We have been privileged to be part of your life journeys— welcoming fragile new babies home, assisting parents of disabled children to negotiate the complex healthcare delivery system, realigning goals for traumatically injured adults, providing immunizations to the elderly, and extending comfort to the terminally ill. VNAHG provides the highest quality home healthcare when and where you need it. From daily living assistance by certified home health aides to cutting edge technologies and complex, specialized nursing care in the home, VNAHG ensures that your patient experience is the best possible.
As a statewide provider of home health, hospice and community care, VNAHG serves more than 120,000 individuals each year throughout New Jersey. Known over the years as Monmouth County Organization of Social Service (MCOSS), Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey, and VNA Health Group, current members include Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey, Visiting Nurse and Hospice Services, Essex Valley VNA, Robert Wood Johnson Visiting Nurses, Cape Visiting Nurse Association, and our most recent member, Visiting Nurse Association of Englewood, a partnership between VNAHG and Englewood Hospital and Medical Center.
VNA Health Group tradition is one founded upon and fortified by collaborations and connectedness. It has been our calling to serve those who are most vulnerable, through illness or social circumstance— to help the families in our community have a healthier life. We are proud to be your link to care that provides healing, hope and dignity and thank you for your continued, unwavering support to our mission that has sustained us.
