Children and Family Health Institute

Children and Family Health Institute

Since 1912, the Visiting Nurse Association has been dedicated to serving patients throughout the state of New Jersey at every stage of life, starting with infancy and carrying right through adulthood. This very dedication has drastically grown within the past century, leading to the establishment of the Children and Family Health Institute.

Today, the Children and Family Health Institute offers a number of health care services to children and adults alike. These services span the state of New Jersey, ranging from early intervention services to prenatal care to educational programs dedicated to the care for children with special needs. First and foremost, the Institute offers assistance to infants and children who suffer from a variety of diagnoses, including autism, cancer, cystic fibrosis, and asthma. In addition to providing home care, private care, and visiting physician service, the Institute takes every effort to provide educational and prevention programs that serve both children and their parents. The ultimate mission rests upon providing a favorable and high-quality experience for parents and clinicians.

How We Help

In addition to treating over 50,000 New Jersey children each year, our trained clinicians strive to carry out the work of the Children and Family Health Institute. Through an array of grant-funded programs, the Institute is able to offer supreme health care for children with special needs as well as preventative education to children and their families across New Jersey. These programs and services include:

  • Nurse-Family Partnership and Health Families
  • Early Intervention Programs
  • School-Based Nursing Services
  • Prenatal and Postpartum Care
  • Special Child Health and Early Intervention
  • County Council for Young Children (CCYC)
  • The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) in Monmouth and Middlesex Counties
  • VNACJ Federally-Qualified Community Health Center

Each of these programs and services are connected to the ongoing efforts of the VNA Health Group, through a centralized team within the Children and Family Health Institute. This connection allows us to create a well-rounded array of healthcare services for patients of every age throughout New Jersey.

With the support of the 2020 Vision Campaign, VNA Health Group's Children and Family Health Institute, guided by expert leadership, unites services and resources to create a seamless experience for parents and clinicians.
